That sheer, brazen lunacy of Bayonetta 3 is one of its greatest charms, though. Viola is also aided by Cheshire, a companion demon based on the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland, who has a mouth full of psychedelic shifting rainbows and travels on a flying Penny Farthing – just in case you thought this latest entry in the series might be any less ridiculous than its predecessors. Viola, for instance, is more of a brawler, with her Witch Time ability triggered by parrying, rather than dodging, enemy attacks. Other characters – the returning Jeanne, and newcomer Viola, a witch in training – have their own combat styles to master, with unique twists. The sheer, brazen lunacy of Bayonetta 3 is one of its greatest charms. While Bayonetta herself still packs a punch (not to mention a roundhouse kick and several volleys of ammo from her signature guns in hands and heels), serving up ever-more stylish combos and dispatching enemies while dipping in and out of slo-mo Witch Time, the summons add an even grander sense of scale to Bayonetta 3's battles. They're the biggest update to the series, and Madama and her ilk make the already fantastic combat the series is known for even better. Unlike Lady D, you won't be running from her – she's just one of the many demonic summons at Bayonetta's disposal in this long-awaited sequel. This is something Bayonetta – always a series to embrace a cheeky sexuality – takes to the next level with Madama Butterfly, a multi-storey-sized anthropomorphic moth woman who seduces and then slays her enemies. Rather, Resi's iconic, towering Lady Dimitrescu introduced the world to a heretofore unrealised giant lady fetish. Not in a gameplay sense – the first-person horror of the latter is worlds removed from the stylish, colourful action of the returning Umbra Witch here. However, it never hurts to dream of what could've and might've been.Bayonetta 3 developer PlatinumGames seems to owe a small debt to Capcom's Resident Evil Village. Now, I know that all of this is a distant fantasy that will never come true (aside from the costumes, we have that thanks to Charles). This would arguably make Bayonetta 3 on PC the best game in the series no matter how much people crap on the story. Lastly, I would love to see fully functional, playable Luka, Rosa, Balder, and Rodin as additional characters in the game. Not only is the idea of fixing nerfed weapons (like Scarborough Fair) and air-to-ground combos fantastic, but also being able to use Witch Walk (on demand) on the side of a building and summon demons to fight on it would be fucking awesome! Thirdly, a Bayohook for Bayonetta 3 would be great as well. All the customization that could be had with Bayonetta's/Jeanne's/Viola's clothes would be a dream true (especially after seeing Jeanne wearing Bayonetta's comfy sweater and jeans). Secondly, I would love for there to be a mod that is able to create the supposed "Bayo-maker" that never came to be. So, hopefully a mod comes out to replace the current ones with those that have higher resolution. The textures are even worse than those of the first and second game. The games environment as it is now, feels like very.incomplete. All the retexture mods that might come out for Bayonetta 3 to make it feel like a next generation game would be amazing.
